Just wanted to stop by and say "you are not forgotten", miss you man! It was fun running scout team with you, while you were throwing 90 yard missiles and whipping the #1 defense. God Bless, Blecksmith family will always be in my thoughts and prayers. If you ever need anything from the Houston area, please email me.

Never a day goes by that I do not think back to the day that I meet JP's Family in California. I was the News Cameraman from CNN's LA Bureau. Your Sons Sacrifice for this Country stands tall side by side with all the other brave young men and women who have given their lives in defense of the values of freedom. And to all of those that are filling their places you leave behind Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Thank you.

We have 1 nephew in his 2nd year at the Naval Academy, and 1 who just recently graduated from the Naval Academy. After going back to Annapolis last month for the graduation ceremony, and meeting so many young, intelligent, courageous & brave gentleman, I couldn't help but be reminded of JP Blecksmith. He was everything that his parents, the Naval Academy, and the world could want in a man. He will always be remembered.

I specifically looked for J.P.'s name today on Memorial Day as we honor those who sacrificed for us so we can have our freedom. My husband & I remember you as a handsome, athletic, fun-loving young man who came to our home one Spring Break with our son, Jon, from the Naval Academy. I was sitting alone in the house watching Fox News one day, as I heard his name announced. We will never forget.
Our love and prayers to the Blecksmith family. Mike & Wendy Black

I came across this website by sheer coincidence, but when I saw the name I immediately remembered it. A couple days after Lt. Blecksmith's passing, I visited the location in Fallujah where it happened. I was part of Col. Jerry Durrant's personal security detachment from September to December 2004. From what I remember, Col. Durrant said he was a family friend of the Blecksmith's. I will never forget the name J.P. Blecksmith, he is truly a hero.

JP and Family,

To those who don't know me I wore the #9 on the Navy Football team and JP wore #10, so needless to say we spoke everyday. He is was always a source of motivation and encouragement before a long practice and his sense of humor kept me laughing and in high spirits. Its difficult for me to know that my good buddy is no longer here on earth. My only comfort in this situation is knowing his strong Christian faith. He is truly in a better place. JP I will keep your family in my prayers until we all meet again.

Very Respectfully,

LT Justin Golson

JP gave me his Navy Dress Blue uniform just prior to graduation. The only thing I changed on it was the LT stripes on the sleeves. I hope the Blecksmith Family is doing well.

I saw a picture of JP hanging on a school wall on Friday. I new that smile immediately. My husband Chris and I were then saddened when we were told of his passing. Our hearts sank. We had the pleasure of traveling with JP to Costa Rica many years ago. He was a hard worker and had a tender heart. What a loss. Our condolences to all those whose lives were touched by this special young man

J.P.,
What an amazing young man you were. You certainly are an inspiration to all of us who are led to this website. I was indeed fortunate to serve with your dad in Quantico, 1969, and I know he is one proud dad!

Semper Fi,

JP and family,

I'm a 19 year old who just learned all about you when reading about Navy football. I'm an avid college football fan, and I currently have a brother in the Marines in Afghanistan, so I have tremendous respect for what you did, and will certainly include you in my prayers. Thank you so much, you performed the greatest sacrifice.

Another year. I thought of Jaeps everyday in Iraq. I know it's hard for you, but I just think he's still out there, doing his job, and one day, we'll meet up again and have beer. 4 years later and it's still not real.
